Mercy with Aunt Trudy... doesn't she look huge?
Such a serious face... she is not sure about these mzungus and their cameras
I'm not sure why, but she had a wardrobe change. =) I love her in this little dress.
This is Mercy and her caregiver, Nurse Anna. We are so grateful for Anna and her family.
A few little things I've been told about Mercy... she knows some English (woo hoo!) and likes to play a game of "Up and Down". You say "up" and she lifts her hands up. Then she says "down" and points her hands down. She's a genius! ha!! Dave says her first words were "Uncle Dave", but for some reason I'm not believing it. My friend Debbie, is a specialist in child development. She said Mercy could point at herself on the video camera. Debbie even did a simple hearing and vision test. Debbie knows I'm a bit neurotic, so she knew to check these things. =) She was our "Parents as Teachers" parent educator with Avery. So she knows I always have lots of questions and Cody always has one question, "Is there any hope?" What a blessing Debbie is! The teams also promises they have video, but they have not found an internet connection in Mbale yet that can handle it.
