So excited…tomorrow is a big day for the Busby family. Cody is now on his way to Uganda. I must admit… I miss my man and I am so excited for him to meet Mercy and start the bonding process with her. I am also excited for him to experience Uganda and fall in love with this place like I have. Pray for him to have safe travels, smooth connections, and leg room. Seriously, he’s tall and 8-9 hours per plane ride is not fun when you are eating your knees the whole time. He’ll arrive around 8pm Friday night (noon CST). Pray for Mercy to warm up to him quickly and for his jet lag to not be too bad.
Also tomorrow I go to court in the morning to get our ruling. Pray for the judge as he finishes writing all of the rulings that are due tomorrow. Pray for him to have wisdom and a heart for the orphans and their best interests. Also, at least two families I’ve met in this whole process will also be in court tomorrow with me. This will be for their first hearings. Pray for all to go well for these amazing families. And please pray right now for all of the children that will be in the courtroom tomorrow. It may sound silly, but from the sound of things there will be quite a few and it’s very difficult for these children to sit still and be quiet, which is what is expected of them. This is, of course, also very stressful for their mamas trying to control them. Snacks are key!! We are praying and trusting the Lord for good things tomorrow and for Mercy to officially be our child, as she has been in our hearts for so long. We will be at court at 9am (1am CST). We don’t know the order on the docket, but we hope to be out of there by noon. I’ll update you as soon as possible. Hopefully you all can wake up to good news tomorrow.
I’m a bit worried about our timeline with the US Embassy. Currently there are many people in the country working on their adoptions. Since things with the courts and the Embassy just started working again, there is a big backlog of cases. I’m selfishly hoping that we can get everything done and be on our way home in two weeks. I miss my other girls and really would love to see them soon.
Sorry to bombard you with prayer requests, but they are much needed! I know I’ve said it repeatedly, but we could not get through this process without all of your love, support and prayers!
