Mercy Monday

As I write this, my sweet Mercy is napping in my lap. She looks so innocent and peaceful. I have to remember this moment, especially when she is shrieking and throwing food across a restaurant like she did today at lunch. Don’t you love toddlers? To the man who kept staring and giving me looks at lunch… I know you have children, I saw them. Don’t you remember what it was like eating a meal out with them when they were one? Give this mama a break. Ha! And a big thanks to my sweet friend Simon for taking Mercy out for a walk during lunch. What a guy… and good practice for him as his first little one is on the way.

Anyway, my sweet Mercy and I need prayer; Cody, Emma and Avery also need prayer. So Cody and I are asking all of you to devote some time tomorrow to praying for us. Cody talked a bit about it here in his recent post. I long to be home with all of my family under one roof. I long for Mercy to start the transition process to life in the States. Cody and I have both decided that this single parenting thing is tough!

I need to go back to court to have our original ruling reviewed. This means I need a new hearing date with a new judge. Pray for this to happen this next week. After that I have to go back to the US Embassy and pray for them to grant Mercy a visa. The sooner I see a judge, the sooner all of the rest of these steps can happen. So please join us in prayer. Technically, Monday starts here at around 4pm CST. So really we’ll take your prayers whenever. As you go to bed, as you wake up, as you eat your cereal which I’ve been longing for, as you drink your Sonic drink that I’ve been longing for, as you hear a baby crying at the store, as you drop your kids off at school, as you wear your Love Mercy shirt, as you scratch your Mercy beard. Really, as you do anything during your day that reminds you of us… take a moment and pray. Join us in Mercy Monday… and thanks in advance for the prayers.

**By the way, I still would love pictures of you all wearing your Love Mercy t-shirts. I think it will make a great collage for Mercy, so send them to me ASAP. Also, I’d love pictures of the progress of any of the Mercy beards (or legs, ha!).
