Moving Day...

Yesterday was moving day for me and Mercy. I decided that after nearly 11 weeks, it was time to give the Howards a break. It dawned on me last week that they had not been just “The Howards” since the first of July. Before they moved they stayed with friends for a couple of weeks and then their friend, Anne, came with them for 3 months, and along the way they picked up me and Mercy too. So, I definitely think they deserve a break and some family time. I do want to say what a blessing they have been to me. They made Mercy’s transition easier, gave her playmates and entertainment, provided babysitting, kept me company, gave me shoulders to cry on, and saved us a lot of money on hotels and food. I do not know how we could have stayed here so long without them. I’ve loved getting to really know the Howard kids. I love them all dearly and hope I will forever be “Aunt Melissa” or as Jemma says, “Auntie Lissa”. I will forever be grateful for them and the way they’ve supported my family these past few months.

God also opened up another great place for me to stay. My missionary friends, Herb and Ellen Cook graciously offered to let me stay at their place. It is such a blessing to have another fantastic place to stay and get spoiled. The cook, Harriett may make me gain back every pound I’ve lost. Herb and Ellen leave tomorrow night to go back to the States for a couple of months, but they’ve told me I can stay until the end of the month. There are a couple of Australian girls staying here until then as well. So we’ll have some company too! And I am already pretty familiar with this part of town, so I don’t have to worry about where to go or how to get around. And Mercy’s been to their house quite a few times, so she’s transitioned very well. It’s amazing to see how God continues to provide for my family along this journey.
